As a self confessed shoe addict I just had to get this book! At the beginning it's got egyptian sandals and some weird pumps and clogs, but things get more interesting around pg 37. There they start looking at some vintage (and I mean vintage - some of them are over 400 years old) women's shoes that go right through to some more modern designs.
Sadly there's no Blahniks, Choos or Louboutins, but it's interesting to see some of the stranger and painful looking (even compared to the highest heels today there's some definite toe-killers here) shoe designs.
Get this yourself, or if you're a man, your wife, your sister, your granny - after all, what woman doesn't love shoes?
I love this book. The pictures are amazing and the shoes they chose are perfect. The only thing that I don't like about the book is that the shoes they chose to photogragh for the books don't have enough information about them. I would like to know more about the individual shoes, the people that wore them, how they were made and what they were made of.
